Heart: The House of Angles

What made the world go sour isn't important anymore. The thing that matters is that one place, far to the west, remains green. The shining city by the sea - object of dreams - destiny made manifest - Las Fuentes.
From across the wastes they come - refugees and seekers, some in search of answers, some in search of cool grass and clear water. Some are drawn here by dreams - of rain, of fruit, of soft curtains billowing. Walls and rifles make no distinctions of these reasons; after all, there's only so much paradise to go around.
At the heart of this city lies a [warp/wound/well] in the world, a place where the veil of reality wears thin. Beyond this curtain lies an orthogonal realm of green life, the secret source of the city’s salvation. Deep within lies the key to yours - as well as your doom.
What will become of you in the HOUSE OF ANGLES?

Heart: The City Beneath is a dungeon-crawling game of horror, discovery, and transformation. Its inspirations include Bloodborne and Darkest Dungeon; As Above, So Below and Pan's Labyrinth; the work of Jorge Luis Borges and Roadside Picnic.
This game will not be as outright brutal and gory, instead focusing on existential and identity-based horror, including deep time and alternate realities.
The House of Angles will also deal with colonialism, the violence of borders, and climate catastrophe. It takes as additional inspiration: Blue Prince and Kentucky Route Zero; Annihilation and Children of Men; The Saint of Bright Doors, House of Leaves, and the Regency literature of Jane Austen and John Keats, et al.
Safety tools will include the X Card, Lines & Veils, and the Open Door. Per the consent of the group, I'll record this game for the community's benefit. Players are encouraged, but not required, to be present for all sessions.
