The Watch is a low-fantasy game about women and other feminine-of-centre people who are fighting to retake their homeland from the Shadow, a darkly sorcerous threat that has the power to possess men and use them for its own violent ends. The stories of The Watch are structured around the military campaign against the Shadow’s forces. You will tell stories of war, love, and sacrifice as your characters fight to hang on to what they have left.

The Watch is a pbta game by Ash Kreider. No rules knowledge is required, new players very welcome. I have tried to run a full campaign of this like three times and every time scheduling got in the way. This time I have learned my lesson (?) and am just gonna post a short series, but if we are having a good time I hope we can extend it out and play through the full struggle against the Shadow (over, idk, 3-4 months). No expectation anyone stick around longer than this series, though.

This is a war game and included a lot of heavy emotional content around loss, sacrifice and hard decisions. It is also very explicitly themed around gender, patriarchy and toxic masculinity. We’ll use safety tools including lines and veils, the X card, and the open door, and the game will run under the Open Hearth Code of Conduct. 

Sessions will run over Streamyard with short breaks on the hour. I’d like to record sessions to share with the players as a form of notekeeping, but will only do that if all players consent and will not post the videos.
