They’ve never said the school wants to kill you. But the vanishings, the things glimpsed at night, and potentially lethal homework tells you it does. Worse is that you are among the few who notice and remember. Others forget their friends, ignore the empty beds, and just keep competing for grades. Maybe that’s why no one told you about Libri Vidicos, this school of magic, in the outside world– until one day the school dragged you in. 

But you’re different from the other students– you and your small band of peers see and remember. You’re determined to survive, to get good grades, and to save everyone you can. You will uncover the secrets of this deadly academy and bring down whatever lies at the dark heart of it. 

Girl by Moonlight: Syllabus of Secrets is a playset inspired by The Scholomance, Vita Nostra, The Magicians, The Books of Magic, Babel, Harrow the Ninth, Utena, and Morning Glories. You play late teen/young adult students at a magic school carrying out missions to help others and uncover the truth of this place. You will build up a network of friends and rivals, drawn from students, staff, and teachers. At the same time you’ll be dealing with the seasonal events of the school year– and trying to keep them from becoming murderous. 

Girl by Moonlight is a Forged in the Dark game. Rules will be taught. In our first session, we will build our series and our characters. This is a playtest series, so some mechanics may be adjusted on the fly.

I will check in at session end to see if some things need to be cut. This series will follow the Open Hearth Code of Conduct and use a layered set of safety tools
