Butterflies and Hurricanes is a sci-fi rpg about nostalgia, broken promises, uncertain futures, and goodbyes. Inspired by the works of Makoto Shinkai, it aims to deliver an emotional and cathartic experience.

You and your friends will play as a group of school friends in a near-future sci-fi world. All of you have just graduated, and you're each getting ready to move on to the next stage of your life. The tensions of the Rebellion pull you all in different directions: leaving the country for a prestigious university, being chosen by the military for a special program, getting a research job off world, etc. In all of these cases you are likely never going to see each other again, and many of you may die. Knowing this, you carry out your tense final Summer together, reliving memories, having your last good days, and one by one saying goodbye. As each of you leaves, you make a promise to your friends— one you don't know you'll be able to keep.
