About

<t:1746471660:F>
For the first 48 hours please only sign up if you've been in a previous series in our Silent Falls continuity.
Please only sign up if you think you'll be able to make all sessions.
Two Summers is a game of sunny adventures and light drama across two timelines by Côme Martin. We'll be using the supplement Other Summers - which means that our adventures will have less sunshine (as befits Silent Falls).
We won't necessarily have any explicitly supernatural characters (as the rules won't support that), but there may also be a little more magic and menace than usual - even if it's back to dull ordinary life when the summer's over.
If the group is comfortable with it, we'll use the GMless rules - whereby we choose before each session which event will be the focus next time, and it’ll be managed by the player who invented it. It doesn’t make them a GM, mind you, since the rest will be described by everybody!
Here's a brief description of Two Summers itself, notwithstanding the notes above:
In this game, players take the role of characters living an adventure during two different time periods, freely alternating between adolescence and adulthood. These are light adventures, meaning people can get scared and suffer from sentimental pitfalls but any violent or socially heavy situations should be avoided if possible. Finally, this is a game with no supernatural elements, so as to better appreciate the hidden treasures of mundane summers!
You'll like this game if you enjoy light drama, sunny adventures and good-hearted nostalgia! Its diceless system is deliberately very simple: you can explain it in a few minutes and its summary fits on a single page, so as to better put a greater emphasis on storytelling and roleplaying.
ABOUT SILENT FALLS
Silent Falls represents an ongoing continuity here with Open Hearth gaming. Initially we played a game of Alice is Missing with a series of Monsterhearts 2 in the immediate aftermath (set in or around the present day).
The next year, we played A Town Called Malice as a prequel to that (set in the 70s) as the town struggled with efforts to open a new resort to revitalize the town while coping with a mysterious murder.
Last year, we jumped forward to the 90s to play Bump in the Dark, but this is a visit to two different decades (to be decided in play).
To allay any trepidation at entering our continuity, there is no master plan/meta-plot you are missing - and with the extended time lapse between our previous games the possibility of 'messing up' isn't worth worrying about.
Of course if you watch our previous sessions that would be fantastic, but it's hardly required.
